Stray Cats Asbury Park Concert reviews
Redefining the live show experience
One of the best shows I've ever seen, despite sitting in front of the real life Hildy and Billy Dee and having wine spilled on my back, along with the constant fear of being vomited on.
I understood what Stray Cats was doing with the last tour and the country interpretation, and thought it was brilliant. I'm glad they did not repeat this tour. Instead, they accurately reproduced their incredible new record.
The sound mix wasn't the best, perhaps due to the venue's acoustics. It was a minor complaint for me as an audiophile, not affecting my overall experience. The inbred couple behind me was clearly over served by the bar staff.
Stray Cats is redefining the concept of the indie band. They lack the flashy extras of a fully-backed group, but provide a very intimate live experience that makes up for it.
